America’s youth answers this great question as Bill meets
the winners of an essay contest, hears the meaning of sporting
ethic and takes the group to the Murphy Shooting School for some

- The Pacific flyway boasts a lengthy waterfowl season and a

Bill is joined by shotgunning expert Randy Fritz as they
explore shotgun slug technology.
Randy talks slug design, performance and shares some great

Birdman -
Brian Sullivan is truly a friend of the Falcon.
Hailing from the state of Washington, he is one of the
country’s best-known falconers.
This week Bill joins Brian as he works his pointing dogs
for Ringnecked Pheasant in the Washington countryside.
Instead of using traditional sporting arms to harvest the
birds, Brian flies his Peregrine Falcons as he demonstrates “The
Sport of Kings.” 1213.
Resident Canadas
- Local or resident populations of Canada Geese are skyrocketing
across the U.S. In
response to this population growth, officials have loosened bag
limits and encouraged a September season for resident birds.
Today Bill is joined by Ducks Unlimited members as they
discuss the 6-steps to Canada goose hunting success! 1214.
Deep Freeze Dabblers & Divers
- Lake Ontario can provide exciting waterfowl opportunity,
especially during ice-out conditions.
Join Bill and guest Tim Furness as they break ice along
Lake Ontario’s eastern shore in search of Mallards and Goldeneye.

Island Black Bear
- The island of Newfoundland is a big game hunter’s paradise.

Today gunsmith and bench shooter Randy Fritz joins Bill at the
Lucky Star Ranch in Chaumont, NY.
Randy is the developer of the Tar-Hunt slug gun.
He is also one of the nations leading authorities on slug
technology. Randy
talks about the evolution of slug guns and gives us insight into
hunting White-tailed deer with them. 1221.
The Faces of Goose Hunting
- Goose hunting styles vary across North America.
While all can be effective, it is a sure bet that some will
work better than others. See
how these techniques change as we look back at a variety of
set-ups used to harvest Canada Geese.

that we saved the best for last as this week's season finale of
"Cabin Country" features an unbelievable big game hunt.
Bill travels to Galesville, Wisconsin to visit the Brush Ranch.
Cindy Brush needs to be persuaded by husband Jim to take an
enormous 10-point buck rather than the even bigger one she's been
looking for.
