1301. “The Season Premiere!” – Join “Cabin Country” host Bill Saiff III as he previews some of the great programs coming up in the next 26 weeks. See giant Whitetails, Pheasant, Quail, Rabbits, Ducks, Geese and Turkeys as the “Cabin Country” team travels coast to coast in search of great hunts. 1302. “Passing On The Tradition!” – Tune in this week as Bill and legendary callmaker Rod Haydel pass on the tradition of duck calling to young sportsmen. Young Jamie Regehr listens in as Bill and Rod discuss the fundamentals. Jamie gets to witness the magic firsthand as he and Bill work ducks at dusk. 1303. “Roosters at Rattlesnake” – An upland adventure is in store this week as Bill travels to Greensburg, Kansas, to hunt with good friend Fred
Neier. Fred owns Rattlesnake Creek Outfitters and specializes in Pheasant, Quail and White-tailed deer. The roosters are flying high as the team works behind Fred’s able dogs. Bill shows the viewers the new Beretta Onyx Pro and revisits some great Whitetail hunts. 1304. “Real Geese for Real Geese!” – Dedicated goose hunters have been using silhouette decoys for years. This week Bill, his father, and a group of goose hunting friends sample Canada Goose hunting in the Alberta countryside. The team rigs “Real Geese” silhouettes as guide Jim Gawley puts them on the birds. 1305. “Lessons - Sporting Clays Style!” – This week veteran houndsman Fred Baum joins Bill at the Murphy Shooting School in Augusta, Kansas. Fred has never taken a formal shotgun shooting lesson, so this is a first. Shooting professional Bruce McCune relays the golden nuggets of information needed to wing shoot effectively. Discover how these lessons transcend to the field. 1306. “Delta Waterfowl!” – Delta Waterfowl is a grass roots conservation organization that does much of the research on North American waterfowl. Bill travels to Manitoba, Canada this week to the Delta Waterfowl Complex. Jim Fisher, Director of Conservation Programs, and Kelly
Haydel, call-maker, are Bill’s special guests as they talk conservation and enjoy some of Manitoba’s supreme
waterfowling. 1307. “Whitetails – Early Season Set Ups!” – Join Bill this week as he looks behind the scenes at what it takes to be successful hunting White-tailed deer. This program focuses on early season hunting of does and management deer. The methodology in this show will be sure to get you closer to deer and there are some bonus tips on butchering your venison. 1308. “Marc’s Last Hunt!” – This week Marc Murphy of Murphy Shooting School is the recipient of some sound advice. Marc is getting married tomorrow, and his bachelor party is a Pheasant shoot in central Kansas. Tune in for the laughs as the hunt’s elder statesmen give Marc tips on marital bliss. 1309. “Rabbit Hunter!” – Veteran houndsman Fred Baum is back by popular demand! Fred is one of the nations foremost authorities on Beagles and running Cottontail rabbits. Watch the excitement as his pack of Beagles exhibit determination and heart during the run. Fred shares his “Top 10” list of Beagle characteristics. 1310. “Flint Hills Combo”
– This week Bill visits Billy Jackson of the Flint Hills Hunting Preserve. Jackson manages property specifically for upland bird hunts. Bill and guest Stephen Rist find Ringnecked Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail and Chukkar Partridge as Stephen’s son Franklin handles their Brittany Spaniel. 1311. “A Waterfowler’s Reunion XI” – Get ready for the always-anticipated waterfowl program of the Cabin Country series. Bill and good friend Marshall Murphy hunt the Arkansas River in the state of Kansas. This program features great Mallard action and tips on calling, shooting, camouflage and river set-ups. 1312. “Slipping Air!” – This week veteran call-maker Rod Haydel and Bill work Canada geese and puddle ducks in Alberta grain fields. The duo uses low profile stealth blinds and Max 4 camo to hide from incoming flocks. Bill discusses autoloading shotguns and gets a shooting tip from veteran instructor Michael Murphy. 1313. “Pushing Whitetails!” – Slowly pushing Whitetailed deer to other hunters is an art. This week, hunting companion Rick Caskinette and Bill spend a morning pushing Whitetails on Rick’s property. Tune in and get tips on how to perfect the one-man drive. This show rounds out with some excellent how-to tips on meat cutting. 1314. “Turkey Hunting – The Zone!” – Getting inside a wild turkey’s comfort zone increases a hunter’s chances of success. This week Bill explores turkey behavior and talks about what it takes to make birds respond. Join the fun as Bill’s godson comes along for a lesson and the Cabin Country team gets inside “The Zone”. 1315. “Waterfowl – Youth Days!” – Bringing up North America’s youth to understand our outdoor pursuits is vitally important. This week the “Cabin Country” team travels to Manitoba, Canada, to participate in a youth waterfowl hunt. Join in as the kids learn about safe gun handling, shooting, dog training, calling and more. 1316. “Let Em’ Walk!” – Harvesting a mature Whitetail buck takes patience. You have to let the smaller bucks walk to get opportunities at trophy deer. This week Bill travels to the Brush ranch as he slips behind the camera to capture great deer hunting action. Watch as friend Bill Lamy uses a shotgun to harvest a trophy that’s rattled in! 1317. “Snow Mallards!” – Alberta Canada is fantastic for ducks, and when the snow flies it even gets better! This week Bill and his guests hunt with Dean Regehr’s Outdoor Adventures in the province of Alberta. The group encounters a September snowstorm and some of the best duck hunting of the year. 1318. “Tall Tines and the Tar-Hunt!”
– Wisconsin is known for enormous White-tailed deer. This week Bill travels to the Brush Ranch as he field-tests Tar-Hunt shotguns and Lightfield ammunition. Tune in to see classic Whitetail rut behavior, tips on scents and the Tar-Hunt shotguns at work. This deer action will keep you on the edge of your seat. 1319. “She’s a Quail Hunter” – Molly Murphy and Jacqueline Loewen are Bill’s special guests as they hit the fields for Bobwhite Quail. The Bluestem Lodge is the backdrop as the girls talk about being dedicated outdoorswomen. Tune in for great dog work, shooting lessons and a look at the factors that influenced these sporting women. 1320. “Dawn on the Delta Marsh!” – A new bond and friendship is forged this week as Bill travels to the Delta Marsh to hunt with veteran waterfowler Jim Fisher. Jim is the Director of Conservation Programs for the Delta Waterfowl complex. Bill and Jim use canoes and old fashioned duck savvy to get under trading birds. See Canvasbacks and Mallards and learn about predation in the prairie pothole region of Canada. 1321. “The Flint Oak Experience” – Hunting upland game at the legendary Flint Oak preserve is to witness the spit and polish of true professionalism. Bill and good friend Jeff Oakes tour the Flint Oak complex and take in some great bird hunting behind and interesting mix of dogs. This hunt features Red Setters, English Setters, English Pointers and more. 1322. “Ducks – Down and Dirty!” – Have you ever wondered how the best duck hunters get close to game? Tune in this week as the “Cabin Country” team hunts fields, rivers, natural cover, and ice-out conditions for migrating ducks. Jim Reid of the Coleman Company stops by to demonstrate some new products designed to help sportsmen. 1323. “Pass It On!”
– The hunting and sporting tradition rest in the hands of our youth. This week Bill learns about the Big Brothers & Big Sisters program as he ventures into the upland fields with two young hunters. Accompanied by their mentors, the boys take a shooting lesson and pursue Pheasant and Quail. 1324. “On Point!” – Today Bill travels to the Bluestem Hunting Preserve in Kingman, Kansas. Two outdoorswomen join Bill as the trio pursues Ringnecked Pheasant. Bluestem’s German Shorthaired Pointers make the work look easy as they point, honor and retrieve. Tune in and see why it’s a pleasure to hunt behind these versatile dogs. 1325.
"Northern Wilderness Black Bear" – Bill travels six hours north of Edmonton, Alberta, to the banks of the Wabasca River. There, the Cabin Country team pursues black bear and reviews the equipment necessary to tackle these beasts. 1326. "Kansas Swing"
– While hunting seasons are wrapping up around the U.S., Kansas can be a January hot spot. Opportunities abound for upland game and waterfowl. Each season, the Cabin Country team makes the state of Kansas it's last hunting destination.
